Time Management Stress / Do you have the time?
Time is very precious in today’s world. Most understand the phrase "time is money." So it is a short leap to understand that time-related issues can lead to stress.
For a detailed description of stress go to the Definition of Stress Page.
And to find out why you need to address this issue go to the How Does Stress Affect Health page.
Time management stress can strike anyone: a student, professional, mom, or teen. The root cause of time management stress is primarily faulty prioritization of time and tasks. No one is excluded from this type of stress-a toddler may even become stressed if his mom neglects to feed him in a timely manner!
Time Management Stress / The Quantum Field
What are some of the benefits of alleviating bad stress? Releasing negative stress will allow more flexibility and freedom in your life. And from this more centered place, you are in a much better place to become aligned with the quantum field. And it provides you leisure time for participating in activities that you enjoy.
Time management stress can be handled smoothly by following some useful tips:
- Create time management goals - think of goals or objectives for a certain task or action. Most material things begin with a thought. Thoughts are things and the more attention you place on them, the more likely they will manifest.
We found a creative, fun, and efective way to create and organize goals, once those thoughts begin to perculate. Go to the What is Mind Mapping page to find out more.
- Implement a time management plan – this involves creating a timetable of things to do. It requires specific time frames which are attainable. A certain time frame must give enough time to realistically finish the task.
Again Mind Mapping is our recommendation to creating a plan. This allows you to unleash your inherent creativity in a visual and fluid way. Click here to discover some very cool mind mapping examples and tips.
- Find out where you are wasting your time – Time management stress can be easily managed by simply finding out where your time is being wasted.
They could be internal or external in nature. An example of an internal time-waster is procrastination.
A menial task (like doing laundry), is an example of an external time waster. Think about the big picture, and participate in the task that will give you the greatest peace of mind.
Since internal time -wasters come from within you, they are very easy to control. External time wasters on the other hand are more difficult and tricky to manage. Some other examples of external time-wasters are visitors, telephone calls, and emails. It helps to set time aside to allow for the unexpected hiccups. Determination is also helpful in this stage.
- Prioritize tasks – one of the main steps to combat time management stress is through the preocess of prioritization. Task prioritization allows one to be more in control of his time. Through prioritization, similar jobs can be grouped together. Easier jobs may be delegated to someone else. Harder or more time-consuming tasks must be prioritized based on one’s level of competence.
Some people would like to immediately begin difficult jobs while some would rather do them at a later time. Do whatever works for you. Note though that tasks with upcoming deadlines should be prioritized first to avoid undue last minute stress.
Surprisingly enough, participating in fun activities should be a priority. These types of get-a-ways are essentential to invigorate your spirit and exercise your body. When your mind and body and are relaxed and revitalized more creativity will through each task, and work becomes more enjoyable.
- Establish routines – establishing routines help the body and mind to be more at ease with what one is doing. When one has established a routine, it will be easier and faster to accomplish tasks. The familiarity of the routine also lessens the feeling of threat from unexpected situations or additional tasks.
When a routine is set in motion, it builds confidence with regard to productivity and competence. And do not forget that in battling time management stress, put exercise and fun in your routine. For some fun stress relief games to inject into your routine, follow this link.
One of the most important things to note is that we must allow the pressure from stress to work for us rather than letting stress control our lives. Since stress is here to stay, why not use it to overcome challenges instead of allowing it to make us feel defeated?
