The Meaning of Freedom

This series of articles is brought to you by Optimal Modification, Inc. (also known as OMI). The founder of OMI, Dr. Thom Rogers, is a pioneer in the field of aligning businesses (and all their aspects) to the quantum field, so that these businesses may experience their full potential.

The Meaning of Freedom / Are you aligned?

The theme of this site is how to create an alignment with the quantum field so that you and your business can thrive to its fullest potential. This type of alignment will give you the opportunity to create the kind of life you desire, rather than put you in the position of being the victim of circumstance - a life free from others' expectations and your own worn-out belief system.

The Meaning of Freedom / What does freedom mean to you?

Freedom is easily one of the biggest and most abused words in the dictionary. Wars are fought over this concept, and it gets thrown around a lot particularly during elections and political speeches. In fact, in his inaugural address, former President Bush passionately spewed the words “freedom,” “free,” and “liberty” 49 times in 20 minutes.

But what exactly is freedom? Depending on the context, different individuals may come up with different meanings of freedom.

In the political context, the meaning of freedom is the absence of government coercion; in religious context, it means freedom from the bondage of evil and sin.

While the concept of freedom in religious and political contexts is subject to a lot of controversy and debate, freedom at its most basic form simply means being free from something we are glad to be without.

So, for criminals, it means escape or release from prison. This is most literal sense of freedom. Those behind bars, are looking for freedom, by regaining their freedom before they were thrown in jail.

For people struggling financially, it means freedom from want and hunger and debts. They are looking for the freedom that comes with living debt free.

For the newly divorced, it means freedom from unhappy matrimonial ties and (finally) freedom from the critical eye of one’s mother-in-law. They are looking for freedom of others' judgements and criticism.

While some of these freedoms are deemed attainable, others may seem mere wishful thinking. The quest for freedom from bondage and lack is a million dollar business; people spend thousands of dollars on self-help books, tapes and seminars to gain insight on manifesting abundance and gaining freedom from an unsatisfactory life.
